Camera scanning continues only while the persistent Android “Drive Mode” notification is visible—even when Maps or a call is on screen. It stops automatically at the selected battery limit.

Connect this phone to the dashcam's Wi-Fi. Drive uses this phone's GPS, but not its camera or audio. H.264 RTSP over TCP is supported. Local RTSP is normally unencrypted, so use only a trusted dashcam Wi-Fi. The address and any credentials are obscured here and saved only on this device.
Drive stops at the active-time limit or after 15 minutes continuously paused.
